Russia continues its unwarranted invasions of Ukraine…
Meanwhile, the US seems to be doing too much to assist Ukraine. How long can our government support them?
Russia Warns US Military Aid to Ukraine Will Escalate Conflict
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Biden in Washington a few weeks ago. A $1.8 billion military aid package for Ukraine was announced during the meeting.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned that increasing Western weapon supplies to Ukraine “leads to an aggravation of the conflict.” Moreover, it would not lead to potential peace talks with Russia.
Biden said the US and Ukraine will continue their united defense against Russia’s “brutal assault.” The new aid package also includes:
- Patriot missile battery
- Precision-guided bombs for fighter jets
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated his country would start strengthening its nuclear forces. He said special emphasis would go to developing nuclear forces… which he described as “the main guarantee of Russia’s sovereignty.”
Meanwhile, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu clarified that they would also focus on increasing manpower. He said 695,000 volunteer contract soldiers should be recruited by 2023. They will also form new units in response to NATO ambitions from Finland & Sweden.
Navy Secretary Says US Can’t Maintain Support for Ukraine
Right now, US support is starting to reach its limits…
Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro warned Wednesday that continued support for Ukraine will be difficult… if weapons makers don’t ramp up production in the next six to 12 months.
He argued that the supply chain would be stressed if the conflict lasted for another six months. The secretary also urged defense companies to invest in the workforce and capital investments.
Del Toro said, “It’s obvious. These companies have a substantial pipeline for the future. They now need to invest in their workforce and the capital investments they had to make within their own companies to get their production up.”
Meanwhile, Adm. Daryl Caudle had chastised defense companies. He said they were not delivering the ordnance needed due to COVID-19 issues. Del Toro clarified his remarks by stating that the Department of Defense has been working closely with industry partners… regarding challenges or obstacles that could increase weapon system production rates.
Caudle said, “I’m not as forgiving of the defense industrial base. I’m just not. I am not forgiving that you’re not delivering the ordnance we need. All this stuff about COVID, this … supply chain, I just don’t care. We’ve all got tough jobs.”
To date, Congress has authorized nearly $100 billion for Ukraine. Republican lawmakers have demanded more accountability about how this money is being spent.
Putin’s War Against Ukraine May Ruin Russia
The war on Ukraine has led to:
- Six million refugees flooding Eastern Europe
- Three million Ukrainians are being dispatched to Russia for reeducation
- Russian troops deserting without winter gear
- Two mercenary armies are operating free from orders or international norms
Putin believes he is the reincarnation of Russia’s Imperial and Soviet past. He has committed numerous crimes to advance the state.
As a result of Putin’s actions, his legacy may lead to an impoverished third-world Russia…
